Trans-Denominational Defined

Truckstop Ministries, Inc. serves as a trans-denominational ministry. It is our intent to reach all truckers with the Gospel of Jesus Christ, regardless of their spiritual, religious, or denominational background. By the same token it is important that all of those who serve as Chaplains or Assistants in our locations adhere to the principles and guidelines of Truckstop Ministries, regardless of their denominational background.

Each location is supported by one or more churches or associations which provide prayer, finances, and/or volunteers for that location. While the majority of these are Southern Baptist, our support base reflects many Christian denominations. Each of these volunteer Chaplains and Assistants are required to be under the authority of a local pastor who agrees with, in writing, the Truckstop Ministries, Inc. Statement of Faith and attests that this person is equipped to work within those parameters. They are also held accountable to our Statement of Faith and the TMI Covenant by their respective Team Leaders, who have been trained to uphold the guidelines of Truckstop Ministries, Inc.

Truckstop Ministries, Inc. is a step-one ministry, i.e., we teach the basics of salvation and discipleship while staying away from those doctrinal issues which may be divisive or confusing to a new Christian or a “babe in Christ”. We meet each individual “where they are” spiritually, mentally, and emotionally, encouraging them through basic discipleship, fellowship, and spiritual guidance based on God’s Word. It is this step-one approach that allows TMI to be truly a trans-denominational ministry.

While we are made up of a diverse group of Christian servants, we are united in reaching the lost for Christ and carrying out the Great Commission by going into the highways and hedges.

In Christ,
Rev. Joseph H. Hunter
President
